I.T. Help Desk site
This website was built as a way to aid the home office Help Desk manage tasks, be aware of service outages, and send out updates on outages to employees.
Requirements
The project was started out of a need for the operations team to have a central hub to manage service outages, send notifications to all company employees, as well as streamline common tasks that home office employees regularly needed to call and talk through.
Wireframes
Ideation and wireframes focused on the layout of information on the home screen and the data entry layouts of the forms employees could fill out.
Mockups
At the end of the mockups phase a style guide was created to share with the development team. In my time at Micro Center, I have worked as the only designer on a team of developers. This has been a challenge and an opportunity. The opportunity has been to teach them about why design is important and how to use it as a tool, not just decoration.
Refinements
The home page was designed to read like a newsletter or blog of recent happenings related to the company. This included service outages and security training tips.
